The main problem with current DeFi solutions is that it is too expensive for the masses to add liquidity to LPs. There are some great solutions that use non Ethereum chains (Serum springs to mind), but Ethereum is a tried and tested blockchain unlike any other. Umbria is the solution to this. Umbria will use level 2 Ethereum technologies to drastically reduce the cost of using DeFi platforms.
