Umbria Aurora — June digest
Like always, there’s been a lot going on (so much so we’re hiring), but June has been dominated by all things Narni…
In case you hadn’t heard, Narni bridge will be the next Umbria product to be rolled out. It’s at an advanced stage of development and we’re very excited about it.
Why? Simple: it will facilitate quick, frictionless and cheap cross-chain transactions. Initially it’ll enable the transfer of $UMBR between the Ethereum Mainnet and Matic Mainnet and then developed to be compatible with other assets and any EVM compatible chain.
Read more here and get a sneak preview of Narni bridge in the below video. It shows how you’ll use the bridge once launched and explains why it’ll be such a compelling proposition for stablecoin farmers.
Arab EmTech 2021 — Demystifying DeFi and lowering the barriers to entry
Lead developers Barney and Oscar Chambers, and crypto guru Stefania Barbaglio hosted an impressive one hour seminar on June 17th at the Arab EmTech 2021 conference.
They covered a lot of DeFi ground discussing everything from earning passive income via farming, challenges in DeFi (low speed, high fees and poor user experience) and innovation in DeFi through to Layer 2 solutions and chain interoperability, importance of community building and decentralisation vs centralisation.
The team introduced the audience to Umbria showcasing our work with Polygon; the DEX, farming features and the upcoming cross chain bridge.
Bounty program update
We’ve added a new YouTube bounty task. You can now earn 200 $UMBR for hosting an interview/AMA with the Umbria team. That’s in addition to these other YouTube tasks:
● Umbria review: 200 $UMBR
● Technical explanation of Umbria Protocol: 200 $UMBR
● Inclusion of Umbria in a DeFi video: 100 $UMBR
● “How To Use Umbria”: 100 $UMBR
Get involved and start earning; here’s the full bounty program: https://umbria.network/Umbria-Bounty-Program.pdf
Umbria is working to make DeFi simpler and easily accessible to those without a high level of technical knowledge. Ultimately we want to provide the best user experience out there. As part of that, supporting documentation about how to use DeFi apps is crucial.
We’ll soon be adding a ‘how to’ for the Narni bridge 😀 🌉 ).
Check us out on Wikipedia: Decentralized Exchange We also get a mention for Narni: Bridge of Augustus (Narni) If you’re a Wiki editor, do add us to any pertinent entries and post evidence on the #Bounty-Program channel on Discord and we’ll reward you!
Holders of UMBR-MATIC LP tokens can add these to the Farm (https://maticfarm.umbria.network/farms), which is on Polygon chain, to earn more $UMBR. This is a portion of the one token minted per minute, according to the amount staked. The UMBR-MATIC farm currently has an APY of 191%.
Barney and Oscar took to Discord to host an AMA (on the voice chat channel) to answer any general questions about Umbria’s roadmap and current developments. ICYMI you can catch it below.
