Blockchain gaming exploded onto the scene with the launch of Axiom Zen’s CryptoKitties at the back end of 2017. The rest is history with the meteoric rise of the NFT and P2E gaming sector continuing ever since, and the next iteration arriving in the shape of the metaverse.

Cross-chain integration has a pivotal role to play in this space.

NFT projects on Polygon — Fast, cheap and easy bridging of ETH

An increasing number of NFT projects are building on the Polygon network due to the congestion and huge gas fees on the Ethereum mainnet; think ZED Run, Aavegotchi, House of Kibaa, Decentraland and Crypto Raiders. In order to engage with these platforms, users need to bridge Ether (ETH) — the native cryptocurrency for the Ethereum Network — over to Polygon to receive Wrapped Eth (WETH).

Umbria’s Narni Bridge removes all the complexities of this process, and assets can be transferred quickly to the Polygon network (also to Binance Smart Chain) and at approximately a 90% discount to other bridging solutions (explained in more detail in the below video).

Umbria’s Bridge Widget

Umbria Network has developed a widget that has all the core functionality of its Narni Bridge and can be fully customised and integrated into third party sites. The widget brings the huge speed and cost-saving advantages of Narni to end users inconspicuously within their native environment.

Known as the Narni Bridge, it not only offers developers that integrate it with a reliable, efficient bridge but operates as a uniquely branded widget to improve user experience and immersion. — James McQuillan

Umbria Network x The Red Village

The Red Village is the premier test case for the widget and Umbria Network is excited to be bringing the Narni experience to this wider gaming audience.

Umbria developers have worked closely with The Red Village — the first dark-fantasy Play-to-Earn (P2E) multiplayer NFT game on the Polygon network — to help design a custom, rebranded bridge for integration into its platform. This will enable players to remain within the game’s ecosystem and to easily and cheaply migrate their assets to the correct chain to enjoy a superior, frictionless user experience.

Gamers will require WETH to buy NFT ‘Champions’ — characters played within the game — which exist on Polygon and also to pay the buy-in when competing in the game’s flagship fighting Tournaments. Umbria’s Narni bridge widget will enable them to do this faster and significantly cheaper than other solutions.

Lucien Dorman, Co-founder of The Red Village, commented: “We’ve seen the Narni bridge used elsewhere in blockchain gaming to great success and are thrilled to now have our custom ‘The Red Village’ branded widget built for in-game use. Not only will this make our player experience easier, but also greatly reduce costs for players. It’s a win-win!”

The Red Village Mystic token drop (consisting of R4-R6 Champion Genotypes) will be on January 24th (Presale) and 25th (Public sale) — https://theredvillage.com/
